“In April 2012, the Ontario Minister of Energy established the Ontario Distribution Sector
Review Panel to provide expert advice to the government on how to improve efficiencies in
the sector with the aim of reducing the financial cost of electricity distribution for electricity
consumers.

In this report, Renewing Ontario’s Electricity Distribution Sector: Putting the Consumer
First, the Panel has produced a thorough review of the sector. Our plan builds a new model
for electricity distribution in Ontario, one that creates robust, efficient and well-resourced
utilities that will reduce costs to the consumer and support the continued economic growth of this province.”
